My Dad, David Downy was on the board of the CDEA & I believe the College of the Scripture for many years and did oversight with Morgan Park Church as well as Paxton Ave. and Forest Park in Joliet which he started. As you know, he was a missionary to black families in the Chicago/Joliet areas. He ministered at all 3 of the above churches as well as other congregation before his NTNE work when he was first out of college. He passed yesterday at 3:30 a.m. in a hospice in KY near my sister’s home where she was with him. He had advanced Parkinson’s disease.

A visitation; Funeral will be in Joliet IL Sunday May 6th (mom's birthday) visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday May 7th visitation 10-12 with Funeral at 12:00 at Delgado's Funeral Home/Chapel, 400 Landau Ave. & Jackson St. (Rt. #6) in Joliet IL on the east side. Graveside last words will be at Woodlawn I Cemetery on Jefferson St. on the far west side of Joliet.

Maps are to be given to avoid traffic problems. Also may view visitation Sunday night until Monday morning online and Monday visitation and funeral video may be viewed that day and 45 days following.
